John Muir Trust Transition Programme

Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn and Urras Oigheachd Chàrlabhaigh were delighted to recently co-ordinate a Primary 7 John Muir Trust Award transition programme for four west-side and north-west primary schools in Lewis.

Primary 7 pupils from Sgoil an Taobh Siar, Shawbost, Lionel and Breasclete schools were working hard to attain their John Muir Award by completing a number of different activities, sharing, exploring, conserving and discovering their local areas.

Activities included mountain biking with Scaladale Centre, a guided walk with local RSPB wardens, planting and growing with the Hebridean Community Garden, litter picking at Barvas shore, and many more. See below for more photos.

Well done to all of our participants. Tha sinn uile proiseil unnaibh! We're proud of you all.

Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn and Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh would also like to thank all of our partners and helpers across the three days, including:

Comunn na Gàidhlig, RSPB Love Nature, Scaladale Centre, The Hebridean Community Garden, HM Coastguard - Western Isles, Skye and Lochaber, staff of Sgoil an Taobh Siar, Breasclete, Shawbost and Lionel schools, Murdo Nicholson, Carola Bell & Juliette Desportes.
