Gunnera
UOG are aware of the Gunnera problem on Galson Estate.
Gunnera is an invasive species which looks like giant rhubarb plants. UOG are working with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar to treat the plants with herbicides and spraying will take place in some areas of the Estate later in the summer.
UOG does not recommend physical removal of the plants as this can cause the seeds to disperse.
