Community Investment Fund - Lewis & Harris Youth Pipe Band awarded £10,000
The Lewis and Harris Youth Pipe Band was awarded £10,000 from the Community Investment Fund to support their activity. The band recently attended the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships in Kilmarnock, their first competition of the year, and have a busy few months of performances coming up. Four members of the band came to the UOG office in South Galson to be presented with their cheque and the UOG staff were treated to a couple of tunes from two of the local pipers!
