Celebrating a Milestone: Over £500,000 Invested in Community Projects by Galson Estate Trust

We are excited to share a remarkable achievement with our community. The Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn (UOG) Community Investment Fund (CIF) has reached a milestone in its journey of community empowerment. The fund, a beacon of sustainable development, has now awarded an astounding total of £509,786 to various community projects across the Galson Estate.

Since its inception in 2014, the CIF has been a critical tool in our mission to foster local development. It's not just about financial aid; the fund embodies our commitment to offering comprehensive support, including valuable advice, training, and guidance to local initiatives. These projects span a wide range, from skills development and health improvement to environmental conservation, cultural heritage promotion, and industry growth.

This year, we have been able to support a diverse array of projects, each contributing uniquely to our community's vibrancy and resilience. Some of the beneficiaries include the Lewis & Harris Youth Pipe Band, Ness F.C., the Western Isles Island Games Association, and the Falmadair Trust, among others. Each grant reflects our investment in the community’s present and future.

The success of the CIF is a testament to the power of community-driven change. It illustrates how reinvesting resources back into our community can lead to substantial and meaningful improvements in various aspects of local life.

We invite community groups, especially those connected to the Galson Estate, to explore how the CIF can support their initiatives. For more information on the fund and application details, please visit our website at www.galsontrust.com or reach out to us at cif@uogltd.com.
